Symbolism:
Blue and white colors represent my Greek heritage on my father's side. Twelve pointed star represents 12 as my favorite number, 4 points extending farther in a cross-like shape, representing my partial namesake Emperor Constantine, said to have seen the cross in the sun (a star). The lozenge or diamond in the middle represents my family name Diamantopoulos. A disc in the middle of the lozenge gives it the appearance of an eye, representing my namesake Thomas the Apostle, famous for needing to see if Jesus had actually risen. This also represents my skepticism and (ironically) my atheism (as I need proof to decide if there is a god). Star is on a structure that is intended as a combination of my initials (TCD) when viewed vertically. The curved and enclosed part represents a cup, representing an "artifact" I have -- a beautiful metal cup given to me with my name on it I've had since I was little. The structure also represents a staff with a primitive vexilloid (the star) on top, showing my love of vexillology.
In the media
- I was the guest on an episode of the vexillology podcast Flagged for Content, where I mainly talked about my paper.
